This is an important health message – please do not ignore
Public Health England has discovered that one household in the Tottenham Hale area has the South African variant of the Covid-19 virus.
This variant is more easily passed from person to person.
To see if it has spread in the community and to help contain the virus, all local people aged 16 and over are being asked to get tested.
We will soon be going door to door offering home testing kits which we will collect.
A Mobile Testing Unit for people who do not have symptoms will also be in the local area.
You can find more details of what we are doing by going to haringey.gov.uk/covidvariants.
Help protect your friends, family and loved ones, and your community by getting tested.
Our team will be going door to door offering free test kits during the next week.
The team will:
• be wearing ‘Haringey’ printed high visibility vests
• be wearing the appropriate PPE
• maintain a safe distance
• help you as much as possible in explaining your test and registering it
• have ID stating they are working on behalf of Haringey
They will not:
• Ask you for any personal details
• They will not ask you to pay for anything
• Require access to your property
If you have concerns about anyone knocking on your door claiming they are working on behalf of Haringey Council you can call Connected Communities on 020 8489 4431 for confirmation.
